A tiny little bit about me, your curator for this week: I’m Pete Volk, our senior curation editor. I like films of all stripes, but my principal locations of interest are action films (specifically martial arts), typical Hollywood comedies (shout out to the GOAT, Ernst Lubitsch), and trying to keep up with new releases from close to the earth (I’ve tallied 150 2023 videos viewed and eight from 2024 so considerably).

This weekend, I’ll almost certainly check out The Marvels on Disney Additionally, because I feel Iman Vellani was stellar in Ms. Marvel but I missed the motion picture in theaters (and mainly because I can only thrust towards my completionist instincts so a great deal). I’ll also be watching the new Delightful in Dungeon and observing additional of Primary Video’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith. If I have time, I’ll sneak in a further 2023 capture-up film — the key contenders are American Fiction (offered to hire), Suzume (Crunchyroll), or the Tamil time-journey comedy Mark Antony (on Primary).

Now it’s time to transform it all-around to you. What would you like to observe this weekend (or what are you setting up to observe)? Go away a ask for in the remarks and I’ll get to it in between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. EST. Information support – allow me know what you are searching for, what streaming services you have accessibility to (and if you’re eager to rent), some plan of your style as a viewer, and any other appropriate info you really feel like sharing. And yes, when this concept is specific at motion pictures, I will discipline Tv requests, too.

Some illustrations of fantastic queries:

“I beloved RRR, and want to broaden my understanding of Indian cinema. What must I enjoy upcoming on Netflix? Ideally a further blockbuster with big musical figures that mixes genres, and reward factors for anti-colonialist themes.”

“I like motion comedies, but there aren’t quite a few that concentrate on ladies protagonists. I like Spy and The Heat, but I’ve observed each a great deal of periods. What else can I view in a comparable vein? I have Netflix and Primary, and would like not to rent but I could for the correct film.”

See you in the remarks at 3:30 p.m. EST! Fireplace absent your requests in the meantime.
